I've had my scooby for over a year now and up until recently the handling has been excellent Over the last few weeks though the tyres seem unable to retain their pressure and the handling is nowhere as good as it used to be
I've checked the tread depth and all 4 tyres have decent amounts left but I now have to top up the pressure every 5 days or so (the pressure drops from 33 to around 29/30 in this time).
A few people in work have suggested that the tyres might need "resealing" - never heard of this, answers anyone?
I've only done around 9,000 miles since I've had the car and the tyres were nearly new when I bought it, is this about right for the life of these tyres"

I've done a thousand miles in my f1s now and I find that I lose .5lbs on the NSF and OSR each journey.

I have to check my pressures every other day to keep a 35f 34r pressure.

Cheers for that Fosters, glad I'm not the only one having to carry a footpump in the car everywhere I go!

Looking at previous posts I've seen that some people only get around 12 - 15,000 miles out of 17" F1s, so it looks as if I'll have to start saving for a new set.

No loss of pressure, in mine which are up to about 5k now and still looking good as new.

Pumped them up to 36PSI, 6 weeks ago, checked them yesterday - still 36PSI.

Try resealing I guess.

Scoobyboy, by your own admittance, you started driving like a girl then on the subsequent set of tyres... you were in a girl's car, so that's okay then

Theres only two possible cuases of a loss of tyre pressure.

1: A punture
2: A non-sealing rim

What else do you think is causing the presure loss? Do you think the tyres become porous with age Nah, get them removed and resealed and youll be away again. Maybe youve smacked a pothole and damaged the rims so they wont seal properly anymore?

Cheers for the replies everyone! I'll get my tyres resealed soon and see if this cures the leakage.
I'll also check the alloys for damage -bl00dy engish roads
