Default correct offset

not long brought my MY01 bug wrx but i think the wheels have the wrong offset, can anyone tell me what they should be and does it make a diference if they are 17" or 18" the wheels are currently 215 40 18 with et 32, iam getting aload of rubbing when going over bumps and round corners with people in the back. I need the right info before I ring the garage where I brought it from

thanks Bryan

MY03 wheels have ET55 stamped on the back of them and they are same as MY01 wheels except the colour. WRC1 OZ wheels are either ET53 for non STI or ET46 for STI to get over the calipers.
