OEM or Prodrive pads?
#2
Just had a quote from a dealer for replacing the front pads on my MY98.
OEM pads: £75 + £45 fitting + VAT
Prodrive pads: £140 + £45 fitting + VAT
Have also been quoted just over £200 for Pagid pads, braided hoses and DOT5.1 fluids.
Two questions.
Which should I go for?
Why are the Prodrive pads so expensive (are they worth it)?

The other thing worth thinking about is fitting them. Replacement of Disc pads is one of the easiest jobs there is, and £45 is outrageous.
If you really don't want to get your hands dirty, or dont have a friend who would do it for a few drinks, then buy the pads yourself and get your local non subaru dealer to do it. I can't think how anyone could foul up a job like that.
