Brakes - am i unrealistic?
#1
Just upgraded my MY97 2 pots to MY00 4 pots with new TSL grooved disc & Ferrodo DS4000's.
Certainly can brake later and more confidence inspiring but on where near as good as my mates brakes on his Audi A3T...
still get about 2 inches of pedal travel before braking starts..
Will braided hoses & dot 5 fluid make any differance?(if so which hoses & where from)
-I cant justify £1800 on AP's!!!

All the Audis I've driven have pants brakes, far too overassisted. They do bite very quickly and very hard, but you can't feel anything, currently have an S4 and same problem, don't confuse this characteristic with 'good' brakes.
The Scoob brake setup has 2 resevoirs so feel is 'different' (pedal moves down before becoming more solid) but very good indeed, much better feedback and really lets you know when it's going to lockup before it does.
Chuck (I do have braided hoses, DOT5.1, Alcons on my scoob and still get the initial move before pedal goes firm)
