Handbrake warning light
#1
Quick question, where is the switch for the h/brake warning light?
Mine stays on intermittently....I've checked the fluid level and it's ok....so my conclusion is the switch must be sticking.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had the same problem last weekend. First thing we checked was the brake fliud level, it was fine. Spent ages looking round the discs and pads (which had all been replaced the week previous. Checked the hand brake connections too.
Turns out that it was the float inside in the brake fluid resivoir. The switch on the underside of the tank which connects to the float had not released itself. Played the float up and down a few times and switched the ignition back on and everything was fine.
Try the float!!
Cheers

I'll try that tonight then...........
Last night I took the housing out around the h/brake and fiddled with the switch, I thought that a piece of the soundproofing material was interfering with it....alas no........

The last time I had the warning light flash I took it to the main dealer and all fours sets of pads were virtually down to the metal. Not happy bearing in mind they had carried out a major service a month before.
Cheers,
Ian.
