17" wheels
I'm thinking about upgrading to 17" wheels on my STI5. I'm currently looking at the OZ SuperT and the Speedline GT1, but I'm a bit concerned about the potential increase in unsprung weight. I definitely don't want to ungrade the suspension (which is still standard).
Does anyone have experience of installing either wheel on a similar car, or information on the weight of either wheel?

I believe that Super T's are forged rather than cast.......or is that the other way round, I can't remember....... but the point is that it is supposed to make them lighter and stronger than traditional alloy wheels.
I was told this last year when I bought the wheels, I hope what I am saying is correct.

Hi "Scud8"
The 17" SuperT and GT1 have more or less the same weight, witch is, if I remember wright 20 kg, 4-5 kg more than the standard 16" stock wheels (it depends also from the tyre's weight).
About your dilemma, have a look at OZ Superleggera, lighter and stronger - if OZ says the true!
Cheers Jim

I recently had OZ SuperLeggera's fitted ( by Tyres Northampton, cheers Mark) for exactly those reasons - I've had the Alcon brake upgrade and thought that the Super L would bring the unsprung weight back towards the original P1 wheel & 4 pot combo weights.
Definitely lighter, even with SO2's on, as proved by the empirical test of being handed one by Mark and my hand actually going up in the air when I grabbed it after my P1 wheel, as it was much lighter than I expected
.
They look good as well and having a less dished effect than the P1 wheel you are less likely to kerb them.

No
As you can see in their site (OZ Italy), it's only available in anthracite!

Just another endorsement for SuperLs. Tyres NH fitted some to my UKMY00 to replace the standard 16s. The difference in weight was awesome, and there is a big difference in handling (seems more nimble), but some of that will be attributable to the Toyos over the OEM Bridgestones that were on the 16s.

I checked OZ's site in Italy, and you're right that it doesn't show SuperLs in anything but Anthracite, but it also doesn't show the SuperTs in gold - and I know lots of Scoobies that have those on.
I've also seen reference to a limited edition run of SuperLs specially for Subaru's - but only on US sites, so they may be exclusive to the US (while I'm there fairly often, 4 wheels is probably a bit expensive in terms of excess baggage ;-)).

Yes, the production of SuperT stopped before 2 months (more or less), and you can find it in stock only!
Are you sure is there a gold version SuperL in USA?
I suggest you contact directly OZ in the above e-mail for further explanations.

When I looked for Gold OZ Super T's most suppliers said they were a limited edition and no longer available. Halfords said they could get 'em so might be worth a try.
SuperLeggeras are not available in gold as far as I am aware.
Have you considered the P1 Gold Prodrive OZ Wheel?

Superleggras are the business.....but I am not aware that you can source them in gold (99% certain in fact). V.light wheel yet stronger than most. Buy anthracite and give yourself an easier time cleaning your alloys.
I've got some SuperLeggras on the way, without tyres for under £600 incl VAT, delivered
Keep going on about this because I am well pleased.....plus I would like to know f anyone can sort me some cheaper (it isn't too late)
Could probably get a better price still if anyone else wants to get some with me???
