Squeeekkk part 2......

Took the front pads off last night to slightly chamfer the leading edge to lessen the squeaking and noticed something quite strange.....the inside pad on both off/nearside is about 2mm more worn on the leading edge than trailing edge!!...initially when I removed the nearside set first I thought that one of the pistons was seized or something but the offside is the same. The outside pad is evenly worn in both cases..???! hah?

..yeah I reckon it must be something common maybe. The leading edge does tend to get dragged in...but then why not the outside pad too? eh?..eh?
Was thinking and reckon it might be because the inside pad it 'directly' being pushed by the pistons..and so the pots can adjust to the leading edge being pulled in and the pots end up unequal distance out of the housing. For the same to happen on the outside the calipers would have to twist which they cannot do...
does this make sense?!

This is caused by the leading edge overheating and thus wearing faster than the trailing edge . There was a full explanation of this by John Felstead in a previous topic - try searching in this section .
