Question

Fumbling around with the cars yesterday and noticed these ratings on the tyres.
I wondered if this could explain my intense hatred of my Pirelli P-Zeros?

P-Zeros: Temp-A Traction-A Treadwear 140
Goodyear F1: Temp-A Traction-A Treadwear 180
Toyo Proxes: Temp-AA Traction-A Treadwear 280

The Proxes give much more dry and wet grip than the P-zeros, which only work at all on really hot days and seem to last forever, are they made of Teflon?!

Question is, does the treadwear rating reflect the softness of the rubber? And what about the temp and traction, what is going on there?

My Bridgestone RE010s didn't have the figures on them.

How embarrassing, I entered this on the general forum rather than the tyres one. Must be the bad influence of the Evo forum on me....

Don't worry. I'll save your embarassment and move it for you.
