3mm wheel spacers, to fit League Black widows
#1
I recently got some League Black Widow 17x7" wheels, I tried to fit one to the front and it is touching the caliper (4-pot). Fitting a 3mm spacer means that the wheel only just clears the caliper (by about 2mm). Is this enough clearance? Is the wheel likely to move when hammering around tight corners? Is this the max. spacer size I can use? Anyone else had this problem? Also T1-S, F1 or Yoko's? Anyone know where to get em cheap (pref. in Ipswich area).

If you have 2 mm clearance there is no need to worry. The wheel is much too rigid to deflect that much under load.
You wouldnt catch me runnibg wheel spacers though. I would much rather buy the correct offset wheel for the application.
However, many people seem to run with these spacers without problems.

I now have the wheels fitted after lots of hassle. The wheels were not supplied with bolts, and the Subaru ones will not fit these wheels. 3mm spacer fits fine, and there is no rubbing, or tram-lining. Wheel only just clears caliper, there's enough room to put a *** paper, but only just! So be warned when fitting these wheels. I opted for Semperit M800 215/40/17 tyres @ £80 + VAT per corner. Wheels £699. Total Cost £1075 all in. They look really cool on my yellow WRX STi Type R.

Spacers are generally frowned upon, for obvious reasons. Make sure your new bolts are long enough.
1mm seems incredibly close. APR say 3mm absolute min. You may well get the calipers touching on hard cornering. The wheel might not flex, but there's movement in the bearings.
