So, my front disks look like they're beginning to crack (lots of little "scratch marks"). Question is, how bad is this ? How long will they last, and what happens next ? (exploding disk on the way into turn 1, or just a mild warping to tell me its time to sort it out ?).

Ta

Look at the apracing site for information. As far as can remember the small cracks are fine as long as they don't extend to the inner or outer diameter of the disc and to holes.

My 2000 scoob has had new brake pads @ 13000 miles it was reported that the discs were blue and would start cracking if I continued with the lead shoes!! Its supposed to be the norm for good brake performance, I suppose you can't have it all ways. I've just invested (invested i tell myself) in some P1 17" wheels to aid cooling and to allow for a brake up-grade when the discs are shot.
