Question

Looking for some help here. Got a new tyre put on front offside today as at service was told it was wearing on the inside.
When it was removed I had a look. Wearing!!
There was no tread at all on the inside edge while still about 3mm on the outside. Dont want to spend £100 getting tracking done if it may be something else. No wear showing on back wheel or other side.
Any ideas anyone?

I had this problem with both of my front tyres. I believe the previous owner had the Prodrive settings on it that splay the front wheels out at the bottom. If you get your tracking checked ask them if they can also check the camber of the front wheels. I`ve got mine adjusted to near vertical and the inside edges are`nt wearing as fast. Have a look on the SIDC FAQ`s for the Prodrive suspension settings so you can check them against your own.
I hope this has been of some help.

Your tracking should only cost ya £ 10.00-20.00 assuming it needs adjusting and it sounds like it does.

resetting/changing your geometry will cost £ 100.00 (ish)

I would get it checked pretty soon - it may be that your car is 'bent' due to accident damage or such like - i sincerly hope not! more likely to be your tracking being put out of alignment clipping a kerb whilst parking or such like - you will wear your new tyre the same way and rapidly if you do not get it checked and adjusted old son.

I just got my rb5 suspension/geomtry 4 wheel aligned @ the weekend it only cost £50 so shop around try one of the larger fast fitter places ( they adjusted everything for that, on all wheels, camber toe etc...)
handling much better now too.

Hi all,

When the Terzo went in for its last Subaru dealer service the guy's showed me the state of the fronts while it was up on the ramp. Nice and smooth on the in side.

I got them to do a complete 4 wheel geometry check, one hour labor no parts. Best of all it has made a huge difference in removing loads of understeer. To early to tell about wear.

Hope this helps.

Ian
