Question

Just been into Halfords they are doing a package with OZ Superleggeras and Fulda tyres
17" package is £999 but they are reduced by 15% at the moment.I reckon that's about £850

Seems a good price but are the tyres up to much? Does it matter if their not.

Anyone have any thoughts on this setup?
Anyone got pics of DBM with Superleggies?

I can't comment on recent Fulda's but I put some on the rear of an MR2 a few years ago and was very unhappy with them - grip was far worse than the Yokohamas that I'd previously had on the car.

I was also at Halfords last weekend pricing up OZs but there is no way I'd put Fulda's on the Scoob - at the end of the day I suppose it depends how hard you drive your car. Halfords can quote for other tyre options such as Bridgestone SO2 - but they're not cheap.

Cheers,

Ian.

Yeah Ian I didn't think they were great but on the plus side the wheels alone would be about £700. Four of the poorest tyres would worth the difference or does someone know better?
Has anyone ran their Scoob on Fulda?

I had 205/50/16 Fulda Extremos on my Legacy . I had tried all of the cheaper brands and these seem to be the best of them . They cost around £60 each but make sure they are Extremos as Fulda make other patterns which aren't as good . It all depends on how hard you push your car . I have now changed to GY Eagle F1's after reading this board and wouldn't go back to the cheaper tyres . They give you that extra margin of safety should something unexpected happen , especially in the wet . How much do you value your safety ?

On boomer's NM5 meet pics page. 5th pic is DBM 5 door with 17" superleggeras in anthracite. DBM 4 door next to it with MY00 wheels is just filthy, isn't it MB?

Hi,
The way i see this is if you put cheap n cheerful tyres on your car your going to be asking for trouble and also whats the speed rating on them?
IMHO Bridgestones are one of the best tyres you can get for the Impreza (so-2 pp's) and i found a great improvement in grip for both dry and wet (especially the wet) over the standard tyres (upgraded from 16's to 17's)
If you have a performance car then nothing but the best has to go on it, you buy the car you fit the best tyres you can afford, even if they are 120 quid each, atleast you know they are safe
I wouldnt reccommend "budget" tyres for this car....... big no no.

Tony
