Just wanted some views on the above combination ... I know someone has put spacers on .....

am considering the same option myself (talking about the 17" Speedlines here) and want to know if it is a good route to go down ... or have I really got to consider changing my wheels if I put the 4 pots on.

It very much depends on which Speedlines you have.
17" Supertourismo will fit with the Subaru 4 pot brakes if it is ET48, but this means you will need a 7mm spacer with the ET55 wheels we supply.
This will give you big problems with lack of stud length (a safety issue) and a change in handling due to the increase in track width giving increased tramlining.

RB5, ST2 and Prodrive 7 all fit with Subaru and Prodrive 4 pots.

Well, I guess if it all fits together then technically it should wotk.
However, I for one don't fancy doing up to say 150mph knowing that I've got spacers on the car. There shouldn't really be a problem, but I wouldn't.
One other thing to consider is that the ofset on the wheel, woulb be a little wrong depending on the size of the spacer required.

Mike,

sorry ... can you translate what you've said into English for me ( ).... yes I have the Supertourismo speedlines (I think) ... how do I find out whether it's E55 or the other? cos I thought only a 5mm spacer was needed.

I'm probably looking to get the 4 pots off a P1.

Rebecca

We have supplied this wheel in 2 different specifications. ET55 in gold and silver for Impreza/Legacy and ET48 for Forester in Anthracite.
If your wheels are either gold or silver, they will be ET55. Any 4 pot brake kit that 'fits' this wheel will have to move the wheel outwards to give clearance whether this is by fitting a spacer or by having extra thickness built into th edisc bell.

The other similar wheel is the RB5 which was only supplied in a 'Titanium' finish which will fit with 4pots without modification, although Andy thinks these are not the wheels you have.

Cool

Rebecca,

The offset of the wheels should be stamped somewhere on the wheel itself, either on the inside of the centre or down the inside of one of the spokes or on the inside rim. Should be ETnn where nn is the offset.

Hope this helps

Exclamation

Rebecca,

If you still have the same wheels (Speedline Superturmiso's 12 spokes, 2 pairs of 6 spoke design), as the last time I saw your car then they will be the ET55 ones.

I'm sure that you could get hold of longer bolts if required, don't know where or what, etc though!

Hope this helps

Rebecca,

I too had this problem. I decided to get the Alcon brake upgrade and was told by the dealer that my 17" Supertourismos would fit -They didn't! - Choice - fit spacers or buy new wheels ??
I decided on buying new wheels as I wasn't easy with fitting spacers. This cost me around £350 after selling my old wheels which were difficult to sell because they only fitted 2 pot brakes. I think i've got better peace of mind with this option though.

Steve.

Rebecca,

the Speedline Superturismo design was around for a few years before the Subaru 4 pot calipers appeared on cars here in the UK. They are the correct offset for the car, and look fantastic (I used to have a set as well). When the 4 pots did arrive on the scene, Prodrive quickly offered several different models of Speedline wheels which would clear them.
