Hi there I have just acquired a free set of AP 6 pots (don't ask)
and I need to buy some wheels and tyres.
I understand 17's are the minimum I need but what are the pros and cons of 18's apart from looking the bo....ks.

I have an STI4 R.
Also any recommendations on which wheels and tyre combos will be best and should I stick to Gold?
thanks
Joseph

Joseph, Speedlines do a nice range of wheels, and are also semi-strong wheels to boot.

Tyres are a personal choice, some say S02/3, some say T1-S. Then also don't forget P-Zeros.

My personal choice would be GT-1's with S03's in 17's

Cool

Dan
Thanks but why 17's and not 18's is it a cost issue.
Doesn't the PI have the same chasis and therefore would an sti not suit them.

Do the 18's offer much better handling than the 17's, as do the 17's over the 16's.

I currently have TS1's on the standard set up. Are they really that good then?

Joseph,

the P1 suspension is MUCH softer than the STi - total cost of ownership of 18in wheels on an STI (other than at Donington) will have to factor in the capitation plan at Denplan

I have an Sti with 17in which is excellent on S02s and now S03s which I used in anger for the first time this evening - they are excellent. A little breakaway which was smooth and predictable - they are not fully run in yet.
