i have an my01 wrx. why is it that when i stop on a hill and put the handbrake on, the moment i release the footbrake the car rools back or forward a few inches ?? this didnt happen on my old honda civic vti-s.

not a moan, just wondered ????

It is due to the handbrake design and is not dangerous or anything.Your dealer can adjust it, if it is excessive.

On the old shape Impreza there is an adjuster behind a rubber plug on the drum backplate which reduces the play,but its a bit fiddly to use.An arrow shows which way to turn the adjuster to reduce the play.

I imagine the new shape will be the same,if you want to have a go yourself
