I have read the threads on Red/Green?Ds/ and it seems they are all about the same or do some pads work better with some discs ?
I have "std" 294mm/4 pots from a 99 STi. They now (after 20K miles) seem to have no initial bite - I drove a Legacy and was impressed !!
I want pads for track days and road use but don't know which pads to get.
Also who supplies them - I have the hex shape "C" pads on Scoobyshop (who dont stock ds2000)
Thanks.

Ferodo DS2000 without a doubt. Only available from Prodrive via Subaru dealer.
These are very good fast road/track pads, but if you take the car on track you'll warp or even crack the discs in record time.
Get some decent discs at the same time - Prodrive again? But be warned, if you're hard on the brakes and go to Donington (a real brake destroyer) you'll need something better still.
Richard.

Thanks Hoppy.
I spent quite a while reading back posts about all the options, and until I can afford a 330mm upgrade, I'm going to try the dimpled/grooved EBC disc/pad combo from TN.
I hope this will be a noticeable improvement on the present setup, but will obviously not be totally brilliant.

I'm just going through the same thing at the moment. I've gone for Pagid blues, Pagid disks (8 groove) and braided hoses with a view to doing the calipers at a later date.
I believe you can get DS2000s from companies such as Hi Spec Engineering in Dartford. Give them a call on 01322 286850 - top guys all they do is brakes, so they know what they are talking about. If you're thinking about new calipers later on (aluminium 4 or 6 pots are the way to go), Hi Spec machine their own and they are fantastic - works of art and built to professional racing standards. Their website is

Thanks Chris.
I have now bought a set of EBC grooved discs and redstuff pads (thanks to Mark@TN ), as an interim until I can afford 330mm (which may be a considerable time).
