Help! Prodrive Brakes
#1
I was due to get Alcon Brakes fitted on Friday to my P1, but I also wanted to get braided hoses (direct from Goodridge)fitted as well.
Dealer refused, Despite having had the car booked in for some weeks and having originally quoted to supply and install hoses. The story started to change when they "couldn't get of any said hoses for ooooh some weeks at least" and then became that they could not fit due to their public liability insurance not covering any non standard parts even though they will fit after market back boxes etc. The fact that the new hoses would be better quality than original cut no ice. They will however supply me the Alcon kit for either me or some other amateur to fit. Surely, more unsafe than them doing it.
I then spoke to some brain dead plonker at IM who refused to say whether the warranty would be made invalid if I got someone other than a dealer to fit the kit with the hoses.
He wouldn't actually listen when I tried to explain that the new hoses were more safe than the original and were being supplied by the manufacturer who supplies race and rally teams, aircraft companies etc.
What the F is going on.All I want to do is give them more of my hard earned money and improve my car - it's not as if I'm chipping it or fitting anything dodgy (quiet Arron).
So what to do? Any ideas?

You're not wrong!!
I'm not the only one either!! If Surrey isn't too far to travel, they will fit the kit, and give you a discount if you are a SIDC memeber as well!!!
