Yokohama AVS Sport tyre
#1
These tyres are often compared to the Potenza S-02PP on our side of the pond, but I've yet to see anything mentioned of them over here, and looking for some input. It's Yokohama's #1 performance tyre in the U.S.
Are these tyres unavailable for you guys, or are they just wildly unpopular? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

A couple of people have tried them over here and the consensus seems to be that they offer inferior grip to tyres like the S02-PP, particularly in the wet, which we get quite a lot of!

I had a set of Yoko AVS on a Legacy Turbo and they were very good in the dry and good in the wet.
I then put Bridgestone SO2 PP on it and they were even better, They both had similar grip in the dry but the SO2 was better in the wet and also better on snow & ice.
I also put Bridgestone SO2 PP on the Impreza and they were great.
They are both MUCH better than the standard Bridgestones fitted to Imprezas (REO 70 and REO 10) and the standard Bridgestones (REO 30)fitted to the current Legacy.
We have had 5 Subarus in the family in the last 9 years, usually 2 at a time (number 1 son is a car nut as well as me)- and we would both go for the SO2 on any of them, knowing our weather conditions
