PIRELLI P7000, opinions please...
#4
As me mate Nito said...I've got a set on order, won't get them until mid march, but since it's still fuggin cold and polar bears are frequenting the streets I probably won't be on them until late March, early April.
225's won't fit my car (Leda B kit), so it was an easy choice, Proxes or the P7000's.
Otherwise I'd ordered a set of P-zeros.

Tis true, I have them in the above (215/35/18)size and I think they are great. Much better than P-Zeros, in 17" size (205/45/17) so it's possibly unfair to compare.
But, the grip is fantastic, breakaway is progressive, they are excellent in wet or dry, wear rates seem pretty good too, the ride is pretty comfortable (I run 28psi)basically I really rate them. Also, although the P-zero is seen as the flagship tyre here in the UK, in Italy where they are made, the P7000 is the ultral low profile performance tyre series and are very highly regarded as they are a re-incarnation of the super P7's of yesteryear! If you're going 18's then you won't go far wrong with these. Secret Agent Man has just ordered a set too, not sure if they're on yet but it'll be interesting to see his opinions!

Autocar (UK) reviewed the P7000 as part of their big tyre test in December 1999. The testing was done with 205/50/16 tyres on an Impreza Turbo. They rated the P7000 third behind the Goodyear Eagle F1 (best wet tyre) and Bridgestone S02-PP (best all-round).
