Brakes??? front & back???
#1
Hi all,
Just a quick question.
I know that the front brakes changed from 2 pot - 4 pot over the years.
But did the back changed at all??
I was wondering because if I changed the front to 4-pots would I have to change the back??
I have a 95MY UK model
Regards

no because some turbos have got 4 pot on the front and sliding calipers on the rear i think. but the 4 pot discs are bigger and you will need new wheels to clear the caliper. but my01 turbos also have 2 pot rear calipers as well.

I don't believe so, I have (MY98) had to upgrade to the MY99 sliding calliper which is wider and takes the vented disk + different shape pad.
TBH I see no reason which some spacers couldn't be machined to widen the callipers slightly (and replace the bolts with wider ones). Didn't bother looking into it as Pete Croney at Scoobysport sourced me some newer style callipers for £100 anyway.

Hi,
I have a MY98 which was originally fitted with 2-pot calipers at the front, and sliding calipers with solid disks at the rear.
Is it possible to upgrade the rear disks to the later ventilated type while retaining the sliding caliper?
Does this involve a different pad, spacers, or is it just not possible?
Ta.
