After careful running in (over 500 miles of varied driving) I did 150 track miles yesterday.
Gentle in the morning due to ice and ability - pressing on the afternoon as confidence grew. Anyway, on track the brakes were ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
Afterwards they were fine until they had cooled off. After 140 miles on the motorway having not touched the brakes they sounded awful. Best word is GRAUNCHY.
The was not a big vibration as if the discs were warped - more as if the pads were worn out (which they are not). Getting the pads/discs hot again they were not so bad but nothing like as quiet and smooth as they were.
Anyone else had this or understand what this is. The pads are the standard Pagid pads that came with the kit.

Check the pads, because mine had 150 miles bedding in and about 100 track miles and they were gone.
I had EBC REDS, i now have PADGID BLUE and these seem to be lasting longer and provide even better braking, but are a little noisey

Mine sound like that every cold morning till I've used them oncee (4 pots with ZX pads). means that you have "cleaned" them off and probably coated the discs in pad material so for a while they will be "biting" more. Check and see that they are still intact, I usually go through a set of pads during a Donno track day.

I have checked the visible pads - they are not worn too badly - as I say I didn't build up the confidence in the brakes ability until the final two sessions.
I will check the inner pads when I have a chance. They are fine at lower speeds 50mph or less, completely quiet.
Bob - I know that the pagid pads give that slighlty graunchy feeling when the pads are colds - it is like that, but amplified! Didn't do it before the track day - mind your the discs were still almost mirror smooth before Dono!
How's the new car?
Cheers,

APs have now stopped being noisy. It has taken about 100 miles of varied driving to clean off the discs - simply more than I expected - I put this down to the kit being fairly new.
