Felt a juddering through the front wheels on the way to work today - only when braking.
At first I thought it was a flat tyre - but no.
My next thought was that don't Impreza's have a "low brake pad warning system" that pulses to tell the driver to change the pads ? I seem to remember reading something in the manual.
If not - can anyone offer any suggestion as to what it is ?
It only happens under braking at any speed - feels like I am going over a cattle grid - and seems to be coming from the offside front. Nothing seems wrong on visual inspection.

Jules,

I had this problem with mine, and it turned out to be warped discs. Sometihing to do with getting them too hot and then going through a big puddle.

Just an idea

Cheers

Thanks

The brake warning system is audible (sounds like the bearings are going) so its not that.

Does sound like warpped discs though. Time for that upgrade? you may be surprised at the prices of upgrades compared to standard parts all through your dealer if you have warrenty left.
