Default 225/35 or 225/40 - classic MY00 on PZero's

I've been running 225/35 since the switch to 18" rims and have been using Pirelli PZero Assimetrico's since I've owned the car (17s previously).

Pirelli have now stopped manufacturing the Assimetrico in this size, only offering a 225/40.

I want to stick with the PZero range, and can make the switch to Nero's, as I nearly did at the last tyre change, but Dal of RRR managed to source some Assimetrico's with a 35 section.
Or I could switch to the 225/40 to keep with the Assimetrico's, but not too sure how that will affect things like speedo on the rolling radius and clearence of the wheel arches on fully lock and fully loaded. I don't want any rubbing.

So, 2 questions:

1) Has anyone had any experience of the Nero's - how do they compare to Assimetrico's which I dearly love. Tonnes of grip and almost don't notice when it's wet!!!

2) Has anyone run 225/40 x 18" on a classic with Eiback ProKit springs? Was there any rub or problems at all?

Thanks guys n gals

Default 225/35

cheers - the 225/35 is only -1 mm compared to my old 205/45 x17
205/40 is plus 21mm which is 3.41% - outside their recommend differnce of +/- 2.5%

Looks like I'll be trying out the Nero's then when it's refit time!

Dan!!

I know i've got a plastic Scoob but i've got PZero Nero's on my 18's, standard suspension, been looking at new tyres and what i have found, is that most people recomend Goodyear F1's over the Nero's and Toyo's.

Find they like going straight over at round-a-bouts in the wet!!!!

Getting Eibachs next week closely followed by the geometry setup so will let you know what they are like

I used to get understeer in the wet prior to Eibach and geometry - but that really sorted things out.

I love the feel of the Pirelli's but if the Nero's really are that bad then I'll have to look elsewhere. I know they do the F1s in my fitment...

Let me know how you get on with the Nero's after the geometry...
