Question

I am thinking about brake mods for the not too distant future if all goes according to plan.

I currently have what look like almost new standard discs and probably fairly new pads. (not checked) I am thinking of whacking on EBC greens for road use. Is it worth upgrading the normal disks to EBC grooved?

I may be doing a track day later this year and am thinking of getting a set of Mintex 1155's for this purpose and only this purpose.
Is it worth doing it like this or should I just stick the Mintex on straight away.

What do people think?
Any advice welcome.

Regards,

P.

If you intend to do any track days either put the Mintex on now or perhaps consider EBC Red Stuff, although I personally didn't like them on the road.

Uprating both pads and discs will cost c£200 - difference is well worth it. Uprated pads can crack standard discs due to greater heat (speaking from experience).

Personally I would go for Mintex 1155s. Very similar price to EBC (within £10) and they are higher spec - competition Vs road.

Thanks for the replys.

Looks like I will be getting some EBC discs and some Mintex pads then.

Cheers,
