Unhappy

I've had these on the front of my car for about 2 months/4000 miles.

I originally had Bridgestone S-02s all round but had a rear puncture. The nearest tyre place only had ZZ-1s in stock so I had both rears replaced. They were dreadful and I nearly lost the car twice on bends I know really well.

I then had them swapped to the front which felt a bit better in the dry but still awful in the wet.

I can't wait 'til they're worn out!

HTH

Hadi

PS If you do a search on this bbs, you'll find no-one has a good thing to say about them.

Do not under any circumstances buy these awfull tyres . I`ve been on a track day today and the things where crap , they understeered very very very badly and offered no grip what so ever .
Dave
P.S. if you want good tyres go for either Bridgestones or Toyo

I think I get the message about these.
Is it just Scoobies they don't suit, or are they just crap all round?
I was offered a reasonable price (about £80 per tyre) and I heard a good review for them on 3-series Beemers which was why I asked...

Just to throw some fuel onto the fire. I had all 4 replaced on my 97 WRX with ZZ-1's. They really seems OK. They have lasted well so far with some hard driving. I must admit the do 'screech' when cornering hard, but tell me a tyre that dosen't. However in the Wet the seem to come alive. They grip well. They is very controllable when you get a 4 wheel slide on the go. Remember that Avon are a Branded tyre so they have a proven track record. With tyres you have to way the differences between good grip and tyre wear. The avons are right in the middle.

The old man also had them on a Scorpio 24v and he hated them aswell . He recently needed tyres for his ST24 I offered them the ZZ-1`s and he nearly told me to fork off , I`m not having those things on my car again .
They do last very well as they are a very hard tyre , at the trackday I went to yesterday , everybody else`s tyres showed signs of wear at the end of the day except mine , the instructor even comented on the fact that the tyres held up very well . After coming of the track the tyres where not even hot .
At the end of the day if you want a long lasting tyre go for the ZZ-1`s but I will never use them on the road again .
