Filed miserably yesterday attempting to fit a pair of front discs to my MY97 UK Turbo! I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with ...

I removed the caliper, pads and caliper carrier, yet the disc wouldn't come off, despite a few blws from a rubber mallet. It looks like the disc is actually held on by the hub nut, which is contrary to everything I've read. The replacement disc is a lot more open in the centre and wouldn't be held in place in this way.

Secondly, the replacement disc does not have a serrated ring on the inside like the OE one. Is this something to do with the ABS, and will fitting a disc without the ring stop it functioning?

Cheers!

Andrew.

Not all the discs have the two screws to hold the disc in place, (I don't know which one do though)

The hub nut does not hold the disc on, you will just have to be more violent in your removal (if you don't have the screws)

The ABS ring is part ofthe hub, not the disc

Assuming you have removed the countersunk screw, there are two threaded holes on the centre hub can't remember the thread size but fit two cap headed screws (as sometimes they are very tight and a bolt could shear) in them to push the disk off. The serrated ring is not part of the disk.
