Is there anywhere I can get my geometry checked/changed??
I've tried Micheldever, but they can't do it until next week.
Can anyone recommend anywhere in the Surrey area, that may beable to do it sooner??
Andy

Don't know if my local Subaru dealer will be able to help, but it's probably worth a phone call:
Cheam Motors, 4-8 Cheam Road, Ewell Village
020 8394 2266
Cheers

Andy,
Why not go to Mill Lane? They have £12k worth of alignment equipment apparently and are always friendly, as I believe you know. Just tell Charles to make sure that the mechanics put max -ve camber on those front wheels, and that you don't care what most customers say.

Funny you should mention Mill Lane, Tony!!
They are my dealer (for my two Scoobs!), it was just that they couldn't fit me in until next week!!
I managed to sneek in tomorrow, so everything is fine!!!
Cheers guys!

Thanks Andy.
My car (UK MY99) suffers the same uneven tyre wear on the fronts, plus the steering just doesn't seem sharp to me.
Does anyone know of warranty problems in having the geometry changed?

Paul,
I had it done to my last car, so I was use to it! And yes, it was good, that's why I did it again!
The new car needed it doing, as the car wasn't sitting right on the road, and there was uneven tyre wear on the front tyres!
I ended up going to my Subaru dealer. Mill Lane Engineering in Basingstoke. It's a quick job, so I just waited rather than take a loan car.
Charles is the service manager there, and you can get him on 01256-780790. Bear in mind that they can't do japanese import cars!!
If it is an import, go to Micheldever Tyres. I don't have the number to hand, but if you do a search for 'Prodrive' 'Geometry' or 'Micheldever', I'm sure you'll find it!!
Hope this helps

There was no noticable excessive tyre wear on the old car!!
You want 1mm toe in, front and rear.
The negative camber is the thing, that might wear the insides of the front tyres.
Normally the maximum is 1 degree or so! If you do a lot of motorway miles, then it might be worth compromising on the negative camber. Get them to put on 0.5 to 0.75 degrees as a go between.
If you have a chat with Charles, he'll help you decide. He knows what he's talking about, as he's been working with Subarus for over 10 years!! (I won't argue with him!!)
