Unhappy

It looks like me front disks have warped - i am getting a juddering under med to hard breaking. The car was serviced @ 15K as per the schedule - no mention of pad wear. I have just checked the pads and they are down to about 1-2mm. The car is for road use (company car), i haven't done any track days yet!
Does this sound like the normal sort of life for front disks/pads and is the warranty likely to cover it - I am due to take the car to my local (Westaway) dealers Tuesday. Whilst its a company car i am likely to get some stick about this - normal stuff about running a performace car. any thoughts or advice gratefully recieved.
My car is a MY99 UK spec 5dr. in standard trim.

Many thanks

PH

Paul.

The discs are not normally covered by warranty, but there have been some exceptions with some discs being faulty.
Best to let Westaways have a look for themselves and see what they say.

Thumbs up

Just incase anyone is interested - spoke to Subaru UK - they recon that the disks wil be covered by the warranty (assuming they are not melted). I will have to pay for the pads only - Bloody super show.

I took down my MY99 for it 15000 mile service knowing the Pads needed replacing. The dealership phoned later me and told me that the Discs had warped as well and they would replace them under warrenty. No hassle, No fuss.

This must be why they do well in the JD Power Customer Satisfaction Survey

Yes to dealers seem as good as JDP survey makes them out to be. Westaways, my local dealers are very helpful and fitted me in straight away even though they where extremely busy. I wonder if there is a batch of rouge disks fitted to MY99 cars. Similar mileages same age - bit of a coincidence in my book.

3rd set of disc's pads now (12k, 25k)up to 36k so sure of a visit soon. ist change all foc, 2nd change had to pay for the pads as down to 3/4 worn.

it appears that all my 99 onwards runnig 4pot (wrx's inc) have this disc problem. suk techincal are aware of it but so far no comment from japan (with a new model on the way i don/t thing that they will be over bothered in solving it either!

We have supplied a few main dealers with Brembo Group 'N' discs as straight replacements in these & similar circumstances, still the cheapest available.
