Does anyone know what the minimum thickness of the front brake disks on a 96 Impreza Turbo can be before they need to be replaced.

I am getting a noise like rubbing pads at 25 MPH and over, I got the brakes checked by Kwik Fit (not ideal, but free, and I do not have a scooby dealer near me) they said that everything was fine. But there is a distinct thickness difference between the rim and the main faces where the pads contact.

I think that the edge of the pads are rubbing against the rusty rim. and If the disks are still OK thickness wise I might be able to get them skimmed.

What do you experts think???

Cool

When I asked the question on the 22b BBS I was told that discs are 24mm new and the minimum thickness before replacement is 22mm.
This was for a MY98 I don't know if it is different for other years.
