Question

Sorry to repeat the same question I've asked before, but I still haven't had an answer
I seem to be in a minority and quite like the MY00 wheels! However, I want gold wheels but can't afford to splash out on a new set just yet (SS backbox, PIAA's first).
Whats the best way of changing their colour? Painting or powder coating?
How do I go about getting them done if they're still attached to the car??
Sorry for all the questions, maybe someone out there has had their wheels done and can shed a little light to an idiot!
Cheers
Iain.

Iain , the best thing once you have had the wheels coloured would be to have a couple of coates of good strong lacquer applied to keep up the appearence of the wheels, i have heard that when most wheels are reconditioned it is better to have them powder coated , but somebody will probobly correct me!

Iain
I dont know what to suggest. However I know that some dealers spray standard wheels gold for customers & I know that Tilley in Bristol also do this. You could ask them?

Spit and Polish in Tonbridge in Kent specialise in alloy wheel refurbs, which include painting, give them a call, excellent service including spare sets of wheels to borrow (not sure if they have spares for scoobies though).

Powder coating will give by far the best quality and longevity. Best bet is to approach a local powder coating business who will do them for buttons.

Thanks for the replys, I've spoken to a powder coating firm who indeed do it for 'buttons', but the problem lies in getting the wheels to them (ie what do I run around on)
Ah well, I might keep my eyes open for the sti wheels that are coming off P1's

thanks again
Iain.
