Question

Can anyone give me some advice about tyre-wear, noiseshape, comfort and roadholding with these two types of tyres (205/50-16)? What is the best choice in combination with the Prodrive-kit (Eibachsprings and Bilsteindampers) on the standard 16" wheels? My car is a five-door MY98 GT Turbo.

I prefer the S02 on a 17/235/40x8.5

However isn't it snowing in Belgium?

Im currently using P-zeros on my Supra and they are a great tyre, but only in the dry. In the wet I can get them to spin up even at 60mph. They are probably about half way worn so its not a tread problem so I can only assume its a compound thing. I use S-02s on my other Supra and they are great in all weathers and temperatures. I have never tested either tyre in the snow.

The noise from the p-zeros seems worse aswell, but then I am using 235x17 on the front and 265x17 on the rear. Wear rate seems about the same for both with the S-02s probably wearing slightly quicker.

Go for the S-02s, you wont be disapointed.

Hey you forgot the most important thing, The SO2's look SOOOOOOO much better

For a short time I had SO2's on the front and P Zeros on the back, The P Zero's looked like they were a higher profile.

I am extremely impressed by the set of Toyo Proexs T1S i have on my sti 3 vltd. They have enourmous grip and a very progressive breakaway. Cost is about 2/3rds the price of Bridgestones. T1Ss also have a good strong sidewall in the 205/50R16 size, which is one up on the Bridgestones of that size.

Anders,

Are those tyre pressures for a 5 door my98 turbo or a 2 door 22b? The rear looks a bit high. My 4dr recommends 2.1 front and 1.9 rear as standard, however I have been running 30psi all around and this has been extremely good with my car's (tweaked) chassis setup.

The pressures I quoted were from memory, so they may be wrong!

They are for a 22B running 17x8.5 235/40
