Hi folks,

My wife's just been on the phone saying the brake warning light is coming on "out of the blue and intermittantly" <font size = -1>(MY98 Turbo). Brakes being kind of important she's obviously a little concerned.

Brake fluid level is OK. When the light is off you can pump the brake pedal all you want and it won't come back on. My guess is it's the handbrake switch sticking in the "on" position.

Qu: Is there anything else (other than handbrake or lack of brake fluid) that would cause this warning light to come on?

- Colin.

P.S.
I'll take a look at the handbrake switch this evening... but where is it located? Within the handbrake consul?
