My 99my standard UK car will soon need new brakes. I am thinking about imroving the brakign a little, but can't really push to a Brembo kit.
Is there something else I could do to improve the brakes for fast road use only?
I really don't want brakes that make screeching noises though...

I would suggest Group N disks and Pagid blue pads. With this setup I didnt get brake fade just a pedal that would go a bit longer when everything got hot and then cooled down.

Thanks Darren
A few questions.
Do your brakes squeak?
Did you replace front & rears?
Did you replace the brake fluid?
After a hectic drive around France for a couple of days, my brakes started making scraping noises.

Also make sure you uprate to braided brake lines and pucker fluid (i think youve mentioned the last one)
Pagid pads...i had em on my Golf 5 months back and the backing plates warped!. AmD said this was a very common problem with Pagid Pads..even the old spec ones and this is why they were wary of putting the new range on!. Hopefully, this doesnt apply to the Scooby ones??
