Hi,

Does any one know of some good wheels to put on to a MY93 WRX?

I`m looking for some 17"x6. Maybe gold. The car is currently Silver, I`m considering having the Scoob painted blue.

The wheels must be able to cover 4pot brakes.
I was thinking Super T`s but i don`t like the price(unless someone knows different)

Anybody??

Hi,

I assume you mean 17 x 7 ? If you call Silverline on 01926-490002,and ask for Anthony Barnsly (owns Silverline) they are the importers of Speedline,+ a few other wheels.Tell him your in the Subaru owners club, and he'll give you a good discount. They also do Toyo's at £85 + vat (215 x 40)

Mark.

The original SuperTurismo wheels (6 twin spoke) won't clear 4 pot brakes. I can't remember ever seeing a 17 x 6 inch wheel, as most are 17 x 7 or 17 x 7.5 inch.

Some options are:

The new ST2 Speedline wheels, available from Subaru dealers.

The MIM multispoke design available from Scoobysport.

Graham Goode sells lots of suitable wheels via their web site, including details of what fits etc.

Mark,
I've ordered some GT1's off Silverline. After an earlier posting suggesting SIDC members would get a discount, I mentioned this to Silverline and was told they had been thinking about it but nothing had been sorted!
Still, they're cheap enough already I suppose (relatively)

Thumbs up

Craig,

The GT1 is the only wheel they won't discount at the moment,so you did ok.For deals on other wheels/tyres,you need to speak to Anthony Barnsley. He's given me a fantastic discount on the Aliseo in gold, and even better if I want them in silver for track days.

Mark,
Delta Motors Nr Guildford have a huge pile of brand new gold UK type wheels with new Bridgestone tyres on them at £800 per set. This is a lot better than Bell & Colvill who were after £938 for second hand gold wheels with new Bridgestones.....
food for thought

Dan,

Thanks, but I have the AP Racing 17" brake kit.So I have to stick to 17".

You'd be amazed at what you can get new wheels/tyres for,if you look around.

Dave,

Everybody I speak to who uses the Toyos, are very happy with them.Next time I need 4 tyres,I'll give them a try.I only got about 7.5k mls out of the S02's(1 track day).I keep waring the outside edge of the front/rear nearsides.
The Toyos are a slightly harder compound(I believe)so should last a little longer.

Wearing away the outsides?..... with your camber settings?

Perhaps you might be better off getting your (cu)camber settings re-checked.

A nice open thin spoked wheel would suit your car, (I am looking for some at the moment).

Good job we didn't get Brembos Eh, they don't look any different from the standard Subaru ones.

One set of used 17" OZ Polaris' heading for the second hand market in the not too distant future I think.

Mike.
