Default advice about brake pads

i need to change brake pads shortly can anyone give me advice on what is the best to replace the standard pads with,or are the standard just as good standard as anything else on market the standard pads from dealer seem a bit expensive to me compared to price of others on market. Also are they straightforward to replace myself rather than fork out 50 bucks for dealer to do them thanks for your help

Welcome,
Firstly, what year car is it??
If you are a handy sort then you can fit them yourself, and as for pads, the favourites at the moment are Ferodo DS2500's, or Mintexx 1144's, or 1155's, call Alyn at ASPerformance on
0191 4103770 He'll sort you out at very reasonable prices, mention Scoobynet too!!!

Wink

Ferodo DS2500, and while u are doing that why not throw in some goodridge brake lines and decent brake fluid. I've recently done the same to my00 wagon and am very happy with the setup.

911, yes they do! As yet i havent punched the pedal too hard from the word go but after a few "gentle nudges!" i feel fairly confident in braking late and hard. I'm still finding out what they can really do as i only fitted them a month ago from the standard setup, but so far they are great.

911, if this is for your "hillclimb" car there are hugely improved pads available which will offer more "cold2 bite than ds2500....................
any queries just ask,
