All these people blithely suggesting compounds without asking what sort of use the car is going to be put to. Tsk.
Scoobymy01, are you just using your car on the road, or do you do the occasional trackday, are you hard generally hard on brakes?
Virgin, Mintex pads are arguably among the more dusty around, although to be honest all decent road compounds will dirty your wheels reasonably quickly.

Sounds like you'll be happy with a good fast road pad. As the others have said, the ubiquitous DS2500, Pagid RS4-2.1, Mintex 1155, something along those lines. If it were me, it'd be the Pagids.

Im about to sort some new pads for my scooby. I have the choice of ferrodos, mintex or EBC red stuff carbon pads.
I intend to do some fast road driving and track days.
Whats the best to go for for this type of driving, not to worried about them being a bit poor when cold as they soon warm up...............

Whatever you use on the road must have good cold bite. It's all very well saying that they soon warm up, but if some little kid jumps out in front of you, you need your brakes to work consistently straight away.
If it were me I'd get a set for use on the road and another set for track use. In this case recommendations as above would apply for road and something like Pagid RS14 or Ferodo DS3000 on the track. No experience of the new EBC range so can't comment on these (yet).

Last set I had on where Mintex 1155's all round these where a vast improvement over standard but still not as impressive as my old bmw325i brakes. I have since changed to ferodo ds2500 all round these feel alot sharper than the mintex previously fitted.
I would recomend the ferodo pads over the mintex.
Word of warning though most performance pads produce more dust, but more importantly if you do use your brakes alot then you will start destroying discs. Standard disc's crack up and sometimes warp when using performance brake pads. It is worth upgrading your disc's as well.

Would the ferrodo pads do the job? or would i really need decent fluid and lines too?
Im wary of anything that needs to warm up - i want more initial bite.
