has anyone suffered from tyre noise i had goodyears on the front and bridgestone at the rear i swapped them around and still get the noise.

the noise is from the front like a sort of whine.

its a impreza 2.0 sport special y reg with 35000 miles

 

I switched from Bridgestones to Goodyear F1s on my 98 and noticed a big reduction in noise. On the '03 I did the same soon as I bought it, but recently I noticed what sounds like wheel-bearing whirring noise from the front. Figured it must be the tyres as the car's only done 10k but couldn't understand why they were noisy on this one and not on the old car.
However, just had the Prodrive springs fitted necessitating a geometry change and the noise has virtually gone, so I guess it's worth getting your tracking checked at least. I suspect that's what it was......
Then think about getting all four tyres the same when you can afford it.
