I need some advice on getting my alloy wheels looking like alloys again, they are currently covered in baked on brake dust. I have tried to clean them up but they still look filthy.

You can get them refurbed, which involves repairing any scratches and scuffs (even serious ones) and repainting, to your choice of colour. Costs varies across the country, but for a 17" wheel I paid £45, from Pristine in Milton Keynes. Many of the larger companies like Pristine will have a network of local agents, often your local tyre fitter, and will arrange collection and return to and from their premises.

Alternatively, there are mobile guys who will do the work from the back of their van. Many people have used this type of service and been satisfied, but I'd prefer to have them sent to a 'proper' facility, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for advice, £45 per wheel seems ok, well defeinatley cheeper than a new set of wheels. I'm based in Sussex (Brighton) so if anybody knows somewhere in the area please let us know.

Cheers

If they are just dirty rather than scuffed/kerbed you could try getting them shotblasted.

Take a look in Yellow Pages.

No idea of costs - I had the bull bars on my jeep done so I could get them re-coated and it was £15.
