Hi,

I've just upgraded the front pads on my 99uk turbo (4 pots) from stanadard to Pagid RS's. The outer radius of the old pads was slightly smaller than the disc, and therefore there's a small lip about 1mm around the edge of the disc.
When i've put the new pads on, the outer radius is bigger than the disc, and therefore the pads sit on this lip.

When the pads have bedded in, will the lip quickly wear the pad so that it sits squarely on the disc, or is it a problem?

They made a grinding noise when i span the wheels when they were off the floor and when i first drove off. But i think the noise has disapeared after driving a few miles. Although it's hard to tell with the noise of the exhaust, even with the window down.

At least that's increased my confidence that i won't die driving to work tomorrow (at least not from brake failure).

just changed mine the other day mine had a lip on them.changed from standard to mintex.
no problems with braking.it will probably wear the lip down with no problems.
