Hello bin, and welcome

Sounds like sticky calipers, or need to break-in new pads, but could be other things. Don't take chances with brakes.

How long since you had the calipers properly serviced? If your old pads are flat, presumably some time, and now they've gone from max travel to min.

Suggest you get them properly looked at, bleed with fresh fluid, check caliper pistons and seals.

Richard.

Bin, if you're driving along with brakes binding, you will probably notice nothing until you want to stop. Your brakes will be absolutely red-hot and completely useless. Take care

Hand brake is mechanical drum, inside rear bells.
