Default Pads: Pagid Blues @ £150 vs Lockheed @ £32

Here's the deal:

Car : MY01
Driving - no track days, same journey every weekday, 40 miles of unclassified & B Roads, 20 miles of A roads.
Driving style: Fun not economy! , certainly not cautious!

OEM Fronts lasted ~20,000, the discs were fked as well.

Pagid Blues recommended (not by TSL) as a replacement, they lasted ~23,000 miles, TSL Group N discs still going strong.

Just put in some lockheed/delphi somethings at £32 a set, including VAT! I'm a numptie and it took me nearly 40 minutes to do this myself!

There is a difference in stopping ability, it's not as much as I would expect though, certainly not significant. I'm sure these lockheed pads would fade if I pushed them, but the reality is I'm not driving/braking hard enough (and I thought I was!)

I'm really, really, surprised by the lack of difference!

I'm seeing more and more about £90 clutches vs. £400 AP clutches? Anyone else downgraded any parts and been pleasantly surprised?

cheers

Chris
