Question

Going to change my front pads next week, i know how to change the pads no probs, but just wondering how easy the pistons go back in on 4 pots as i don't have a proper tool to push them back in with. I have done 2 pots with a piece of wood and brute force but not 4 pots.

Also how does everyone else tackle it without the proper tool?

Cheers James.

Before you remove the old pads, put a screwdriver or similar in-between the pad and disc, and use the old pad to push the pistons back, it's that easy! do each pad seperately, otherwise you just go round in circles!

Cool

Big G Clamp, had to use it both times I've changed the pads. Agree with above to get them loosened but I find you can't get them far enough back for a new set of pads.

You can buy purpose made piston retractors. Think I saw some in Halfrauds for about £40.

Yes as ron says put a pry bar or screwdriver between the discs and old pads , the old pads are being thrown away so it doesn't matter if you damage them , do on pad at a time , if you take one pad out that way , when you push the other pistons in the first ones will come back out.

If you need anything more than that to get them in , in in all the way there is a problem , crap on the pistons usually , I dont mean you actually got to crap on them , there is muck on them
