Exclamation

Hi, thanks for looking.

Basically all i know about brakes is that they stop the car, wear down pretty quick, are expensive but quite straight forward to change.
I own a MY00 classic WRX
Still running standard brakes from what i can work out and the original discs have just about had it (50K miles)
Just looking for advice on whats best to replace them pads aswell and can i fit larger ones on as im rnning on 17" MY03 alloys.
Any help, links or prices would be gratefully received.
Many thanks

Hi John,

Don't think you can fit larger discs without changing the calipers too. You could upgrade the whole lot to Brembo, AP etc. but I think you'd be looking at a minimum of £1500.

Your best bet is probably upgrading the discs and pads. I found Ferodo DS2500s the best allrounders but you might also consider Pagid Blue or Mintex 1155. As for discs, you could try Black Diamond drilled or grooved, but I'm sure people may have some other recommendations.

If you haven't done it already, I would strongly recommended changing to braided steel hoses and DOT 5.1 fluid.

Hope this helps, seeya soon mate,

T

If you have OE Scoob 4-pots, it might be worth looking at Godspeed.
IIRC, Ian does a kit to allow the OE calipers to be modded to take larger discs, and this works out MUCH cheaper than the full replacement route.

John, I'd just like to echo Tony's comment re: braided hoses - It will make the pedal feel much better and is v. worth while - Also, relatively cheap compared to the rest of the kit -

I went for TSL Grp N disks, which fit under the standard 4 pots (I was running 2's before)-

Should be plenty of options, depending on your budget...
