Question

Ian

John who bought the 355mm kit, as asked me to post this as he hasn't got internet access. He's over the moon with the kit, But just one small problem he cant stop them from squeeling. They have been copper greased up all over the backs of the pads, pins, & sliders. Do you have any suggestions of a cure or is it down to the pad compound. (racing)

I've just managed to get mine to stop squealing after taking the pads out for the third time. Yet more copper slip seems to have cured it but my pads still 'rattle'. This can get annoying at times.... does his kit do this or is it the way i've fitted them?

Tony,
have you re-ritted the big spring to the outside of the pads, the one that goes over the pins??
Thankfully mine don't rattle or squeel, if squeelinmg persists, you could try tapering the leading edge of the pad slightly, that sometimes works, not too much though, otherwise you reduce the pad size!!

The anti rattle thingy Ron? I have tried it and it keeps the pins in one place but the pads can move around slightly on the pins. Im gonna have another look tommorrow when i touch up the caliper paint which got fooked up when i put the wheel on to find it touched the caliper (P.s Ian how are the spacers coming along?).

Tony.

P.s little niggles aside i really do think the kit is excellent and an absolute bargain .

Scoobydan - Email me Johns number and I will ring him and run through what he can try

Tone loc - If the pads rattle then the spring clips arn't fitted back in right , you may have to bend them slightly to make them fit right but they should hold the pads in firm , I have the spacers here , they were made just before christmas , but the platers are shut till next week , do you want to hang on till then or shall I send them unplated ? unplated they will go rusty

Let me know , Cheers Ian

Cheers Ian.... im going to try to refit the spring clips tommorrow. No worries about the spacers, i'd rather wait so they don't go rusty. The universal ones i have now will do till then.

Been giving the brakes a hard time today and they really have impressed me .
