pads & hose set
#1
I have a standard MY00 brake setup, but i am looking to make it more responsive so as i dont scare the living s##t out of myself too often. Thinking of switching the pads to mintex 1155's with the goodridge hose set.
Will this make a difference?
Cheers

Yes it will, along with a better fluid, you may find however that the 1155's is a step too far for 'normal' road use, the 1144's may be a better solution, especially on standard discs!

Hi
I have just fitted Pagid 8 groove discs and Mintex 1155 pads to the front of my MY00 and EBC plain discs to the rear with Mintex 1144 Pads, Also braided hoses, but still using standard fluid.
The brakes are totally transformed, The 1155s are quite a hard pad, but I have not had any issues with them from cold start, and once they are warmed up they are unreal.
The car is now predictable under braking, and has no fade at all.
I would recommend this type of set up to anyone.
Cheers
Julian
PS. Fitted Eibachs Springs as well, this is another must for the Impreza. It rides as well if not better, but start to push it and the handling is much improved. Also helps reduce nose dive under heavy braking.
