Unhappy

My driver's side rear tyre is losing approx. 1psi a day. Have had it 'sealed' 3 times at my local tyre dealers with no success.
The wheel is a standard 5 spoke and appears to be in good condition.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks, Ade.

I've heard of some alloy wheels going porous. I would talk to a wheel refurb place see if they can spray a sealant on it.

Could it be the valve Soulman? - try fitting a quality end cap?

Could be the Schrader valve is leaking. Try tightening it using the plastic cap you get on the end of those pencil pressure gauges, or get a tool from Halfords. I recommend the latter, as I've had the plastic cap snap and jam in the valve before.

From memory the wheels on the MY98 were prone to being porous

Can't confirm but it's possibly in the SIDC FAQ section .....

Just sticks in my memory somewhere...

Hope it isn't for your sake

Cheers

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies!
Don't think it's the valve. Have heard about porous alloys - was thinking about treating the car to some new wheels, so now I could have a good excuse!

Thanks again, Ade.
