Got my Ferrodo DS2500 pads today from AS performance - £154 for the front pads including VAT and delivery. Fitted them this afternoon in 45 minutes. I've changed brake pads on a few different cars before but never the STi7. For brake pads, it was by far the easiest of all the cars I've worked on.
Looks like I've saved about £250 and got better than OEM pads.

This is for a mate at work who has an STI7. He is looking to replace the front Brembo pads. He has been quoted over £400 to have this done by his local Scoob dealer.

What I would like is peoples opinions on alternatives to the standard Subaru pads. Also recommendations for garages / specialists to fit them (South East and Oxfordshire preferred).

Thanks
Chris

Dont know about the non gen stuff, but quite right about scoob gen's,
275.00 for fronts and 265.00 for the rears, plus fitting and vat of course!
How can they justify such dramatic costs?

I mail ordered uprated pads from AS Performance but I hear they now have a range to choose from, including OEM spec. Good advice and good service IMO. Scooby dealers are clearly on drugs at the prices they are quoting, muttering about warranty and such to justify. Like it applies to brakes anyway. I had 'em fitted nearby for 50 quid at a local independant who caters to the max power brigade.

Thumbs up

I tried 1144's and threw them away after 1000 miles. Then went to DS2500's front and back...and have not looked back; Best pads by a long shot.

I know several Sti7's up on the North that run nothing else now.

Nice one Jools - These were the pads that I was going to recommend. Good to see they are well thought of. Any one else? Also be interested to know roughly what price you paid.

Cheers

Bobby,

I would need to check and I'm not at home right now. I think the first set I bought were 125 quid for the fronts, but then I'm sure I was 168 quid for the fronts the last time I bought them, about 3 mths ago from Falkland.

I'm running Pagid RS-15's, absolutely bonkers brake pads, they've got this remote resovoir that you put Supaglue in. Nothing stops better.

bought from AS-Performance ~£180 and 20 mins of my own fitting time.
