I've gotlovely gold wheels which gleam very nicely, however, the brake calipers are a bit manky and rusty and i thought i may as well take the wheel off and use a little rust remover and the laquer/ paint them? is this possible and ok to do? is there anything you could recommend. I heard something about the heat from the braking may make this unpossible. advice please.

Hi,

I just got some caliper paint from Halfords, cleaned the calipers and painted them. No problem

you can use Hammerite smooth as well, which makes life a bit cheaper (£10) if you want to go for more than one colour (for the logo really)

easy enough to do, but make sure they are clean beforehand, the only tricky bit is the 'subaru' logo, which takes time

I did mine with black and white Hammerite about 14 months ago, and it's only just starting to chip away.
