What is the law regarding spare Tyre?

Question

Just wondering whether is is legal not to have one?

Not sure but the new mini doesn't have a spare from factory...it just comes with a can of tyre sealant.Having no spare is not an MOT failure either (at present!!)

The mini has run flat tyres though I think?

Yeah - the Mini doesn't come with one and a few other cars just have the can option instead!

Spare tyre not legally required - but if you have a spare it must meet all the legal requirements

Tread depth must right etc etc
