I need new pads for the front of the type R.

I don't care whats the cheapest or what leaves less dust or any of that rubbish.

I want to know - in your own opinions - what are the best pads to buy based on their performance. Its not going on a track coz I'm too scared about filling it up with gravel and other scary stuff like that.

So fast road then - what are your recommendations?

MINTEX 1155s work for me.

1144s seemed too soft and could cause lock up.(no ABS).

I think DS 2500s By FERODO also get a big thumbs up by many.

Mintex 1155, Ferodo DS2500 or Pagid RS4.2-1, not necessarily in that order. For the Pagids, try Performance Braking on 01600 713117. Great people and great prices.

BTW, shouldn't this be in Wheels, Tyres & Brakes?

I run my 5 type R on Pagid discs and pads. On my 3rd set of RS42-1 'Blues' and swear by them. They are progressive, do not fade on the limit and are good from cold as well. The only downside is a fair amount of brake dust. Highly recommended.
